Walking Tours
Seventeen historic murals, painted on the sides of buildings in downtown Centralia, portray the history of the area and include a mural depicting the November 11, 1919, Armistice Day Riot and Massacre -- referred to as the Wobbly War. Groups large and small are encouraged to participate in the Downtown Centralia Walking Tour offered by the CVB. The tour explores the rich history and elegant architecture of Centralia?s charming downtown. This quaint shopping district has been the subject of regional and national media coverage. Tour participants can learn about Centralia's past as a lively railroad town that housed bootleggers, bank robbers and other lively characters. Contact Lewis County Convention and Visitor Bureau for guided group tours of Historic Downtown and historic homes and buildings. |
